Comparative Food and Agriculture Systems (AGEC 710) is a course for food and agribusiness professionals interested in getting an in-depth view of the global food system. The course will show you the real picture of the food and agribusiness industry from people who have experienced it first hand.

AGEC 710 is team taught by faculty at K-State’s partner institutions in Uruguay, France, Russia and the Former Soviet Union, New Zealand, Uganda, India and Thailand to give you a first-hand account of the history and conditions of each of the significant economic zones studied – MERCOSUR, European Union, Russia and the FSU, Oceania, sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia and East Asia.

Comparative Food and Agriculture Systems is offered each year from mid-April to mid-August, and is open to anyone with a bachelor’s degree and two years of professional experience. To apply, you must fill out a non-degree application*. The course is $1,692 for three credit hours of graduate work.

Students can plan to spend an average of five to seven hours per week on the class. This includes lectures, readings, chatrooms and homework. Students must have access to a personal computer with at least a 500 MHz processor and internet access that is free from corporate firewalls.

For more information about the course, you can email the program coordinator or call 785-532-4495.
